Chapter 1: The New Girl
Harry, Ron, and Hermione were standing on Platform 9 ¾ waiting to get on the train for their 5th year.
"You know, this year isn't going to be as easy as the other years at Hogwarts." said Hermione.
"Why do you say that?" Ron asked questioningly.
"Because, its our 5th year. Don't you know what is going on this year for us?" Hermione said exasperated.
Harry and Ron just looked at her as if trying to find the answer on her face.
"We have OWLS this year!" Hermione said.
"Oh, well, they're not that bad are they?" said Ron.
"Of course they're bad!" said Hermione. Then, in a whisper, she added, "I heard that they're really hard. And people get so stressed out that they have to go to the hospital wing. Maybe even sometimes St. Mungo's."
Ron sighed. "Hermione, would you stop worrying? It'll be fine."
"Hey, who's that?" Harry said not paying any attention to what Ron and Hermione were saying.
"Who?" said Ron.
"Her." Harry said pointing to a girl with long blond hair that was in a ponytail. She was wearing normal clothes instead of they're robes.
"I don't know," said Ron, "I never saw her before."
"Well maybe she's new.," said Harry.
"Harry, new students can't come if they're not in the first year." said Hermione, "and she definitely is not a first year."
"Let's go talk to her." said Harry completely ignoring Hermione.
"Ok." said Ron.
Harry and Ron started over to her closely followed by Hermione who was very annoyed.
"Hi." said Harry when they reached her. She looked up slowly frowning and when she saw them her expression changed completely, along with Harry and Ron's. She had bright blue eyes and the perfect smile and was very pretty.
"Hi." she said kindly.
Harry and Ron were gaping at her while Hermione was looking annoyed.
"Hello," said Hermione pushing Harry and Ron aside, "I'm Hermione Granger. And this is Harry Potter-"
"-Oh, I know who he is." the girl cut in looking Harry up and down.
"-and this is Ron Weasley." said Hermione who was looking at the girl as if she wanted her to just disappear right then.
"Oh," said the girl smiling at the two boys. " I'm Nicole Valimari. Its very nice to meet you." she said shaking each of their hands.
"How come we never saw you before?" Hermione asked angrily. The girl turned from the boys to Hermione frowning.
"Because," she said smartly, "I'm new."
"Well, you have to be a first year to be new. So you can't be new because you are definitely not a first year."
"For your information, I am new and I am not a first year." Nicole said hotly.
Hermione thought there was something very odd about her.
"Well, if you don't mind," Hermione said getting angrier by the minute, "we have to get on the train, So Bye-Bye."
"Ok. Well. Bye then" Nicole said turning to leave.
"No wait," Ron said quickly, "y-you can sit with us."
"Ron! She can't-" Hermione started furiously.
"I'd love to." Nicole said brightly.
"Great!" said Harry and Ron together.
They turned with Nicole in between them and started walking away. As they were, Nicole turned her head toward Hermione and smirked just like Malfoy.
There is definitely something odd about her, Hermione thought, something very odd. Regretting that she ever introduced them to each other, Hermione followed Harry, Ron, and the new girl, Nicole.
