The sea Search

Peering, peering all around Nothing, not a single sound No one, nothing near in sight No one to help him with his plight

He's a fish in the ocean blue Searching for his son-it's true His boy was lost in a storm one day Off with his friends to joke and play

Searching the depths of the ocean deep Never getting a wink of sleep Meeting fishes tall and wide But pushing all of them aside

The only thing that matters now Is finding his son, someway, somehow He will search forever more Not knowing what the world holds store

Rising up to the very top Seeing birds on the shore hop Seeing fisherman with their dangling hooks Wondering if his son was given to their cooks

Wandering through coral reefs Mulling over his many griefs Seeing sharks and eels as well And a snail hiding within its shell

His final try, his one last hope Until doomed to forever mope About his lost son gone away Never to come back another day

He returns home crushed and sad Feeling even worse than bad After his endless endless roam Not knowing what is right at home

Stepping into his rock cave Just about to sob and rave He peers around the small room Feeling the full weight of doom

But what, but what is that he sees? Peering through the seaweed leaves? The face, the face, yes that's the one The one and only face of his son!

But how? But how? He screams and cries To explain to dad his son tries I was tossed and turned in huge waves Pushed and prodded through rock caves

I was tangled in seaweed But then was finally freed Pushed through packs of turtles whales and fish Almost made a gourmet dish

But followed truly my heart this way And made it home to you today Never again will I stray far from home I no longer have the need to roam.

I have seen what lies out there And it gave me quite a scare I know now what waits for me Is all I need-my family!
