Title: Then

Starting: Snape, Bellatrix

Pairings: Severus/Bellatrix

Era: post-ootp

Summary: really really short ficlet. I wrote this is 2 minutes, so don't expect it to be meaningful and flow like poetry. it's just something to get me going.

Snape angst.

''You don't remember me but I remember you

I lie awake and try so hard not to think of you

but who can decide what they dream?

and dream I do...

Have you forgotten all I know and all we had?

you saw me mourning my love for you and touched my hand

I knew you loved me then...'' ~Evanescence - Taking over me

Everything glowed silver-white. The trees were covered with snow, and the way to the house had its floor full of footsteps. Severus made his way through the crowed street, entering the dark hidden door. It was a small house that was barely noticeable, and when it was covered with snow in the winter it was almost impossible to see. This was Severus' first meeting with the Death Eaters in five years. He wasn't nervous, nor was he anxious about the meeting. In fact, he dreaded meetings more than anything. Rodolphus Lestrange would always lead them, talking about millions of possibilities to achieve ridiculous objectives, non of them slightly related to the Dark Lord. Not until now.

He had received an owl, sent by Bellatrix Lestrange. She wrote about how The Death Eaters had been freed of Azkaban for the lack of protection, and how now they were plotting a revenge on Harry Potter, Dumbledore, and all that got in the way of the Prophecy that night. She also wrote that she missed him.

At first Severus stared at the piece of parchment, wondering if that was really her, or if it was Rodolphus with one of his heartless jokes about his past with Bellatrix. But then he decided that wondering about it wouldn't do him any good, so changing his opinion about not going to the meeting, he decided to dig into the past. He didn't have anything to lose, not anymore.

With the squeak of the door, all of the Death Eaters turned to see Severus entering. To his surprise, Rodolphus wasn't there, and the person talking was Bellatrix, who stopped as she saw him.

''Every single one of them,'' She continued, glancing away from Severus quickly. ''Every single little one of them.'' She completed with a devious smile. After she finished her words, she got up and walked towards him, leaving another Death Eater to take over. But no one talked, and the room fell empty and eerily silent. Severus noticed for the first time how much like his house the place looked ; walls gleaming dark, shadows clunging to the stairs, rooms gaping along the corridors.

She's still beautiful, Severus thought while she walked to him, a small smile quirking her lips. She got closer, her face inches away from his, and in a whisper she said, ''I still love you.''

Severus awoke to darkness, his room cold and windy. He got up and stood by the window, waiting for Bellatrix's owl. Maybe this time it'll come, he thought. But it never did.
