Charmed By A Cowboy

A/N: Hello, new authoress here, name's Scatter. This is my first piece of Newsies-related poetry, I've submitted to fanfiction.net. This is a Blink/Jack poem, so don't read if the coupling or the slash offends you. The coupling may be odd, but I gave Mayfly (known as Sita-chan on fanfiction.net) the option of giving me any Newsies couple to write a romantic poem on, and she chose Blink and Jack. So this poem was written on her request, but I hope other people enjoy it.

I wish that I could tell you
On the other hand, I don't
Why should I invade your life?
You're better off with her

I watch your arms around her waist
Your face goes in for a kiss
Her eyes close, the tension grows
You know this isn't right

I've watched as you lay awake
You toss and turn at night
I wish that I could comfort you
With sweet words and kisses light

I don't know when I started thinking
Thinking about you like this
We used to be no more than friends
Our bond was that of men

Now I feel violated
Like something here is wrong
As much as I hate to admit this
Your charm caught me off guard

Your cowboy hat and rebel ways
And that sexy light brown hair
You don't know what you do to me
And I highly doubt you care

One of my eyes may be blind
That doesn't mean I can't see
You and Sarah will marry
And leave for Santa Fe

I'll be left alone here
It's probably better that way
From here in New York, I can't hurt you
But my heart, it sure can bleed

Jack, if you are reading this
Please don't doubt your ways
Enclosed are two tickets to Santa Fe
Take Sarah and go away

Society doesn't accept two men
Who feel the way I do
Go on pretending to be straight
Even though it isn't true.
