Paradise Aflame
Lightning streaks across the grim clouds
Over a rain stricken paradise.
Thunder rolls off the tongue
Of the dimly lit land
And then there is silence.
Paradise falls into storm
And all happiness is lost.
The sky reaps all that is good
As heaven weeps.
Palm trees aflame
While the weak struggle to find meaning.
Lightning strikes again
And the sky is aluminized
With a pure white shimmer.
Shortly follows the melody
Of thunder's assault
Upon the silent night's sky.
Clouds in the distance,
Red with fire,
Watch over paradise's sacrifice.
Ancestor of Eden,
Beauty of the world,
Take your place
In the book of the lost.
Heaven, torn in atrocity,
Takes its revenge
Upon innocent soil.
But in return
Heaven's lost
Another Eden.
