I apologize for not updating.  There are so many things to do.

The narrator of this story is speaking about…

Kane…..and/or…... Raven.

As I wrote this piece, images of the both of them came to my mind.  For Kane, it was when he set JR on fire.  I tried to read his words before he did so, and tried to imagine what it must have been like to have one event lead a life in such a drastic way.  I traveled thought to thought, trying to understand why he would think or feel a certain way, so I wrote the story taking a tiny step at a time.  The evolution of the person had to be shown in a precise manner.

I thought of Raven's alienation, how he attains the brotherhood he so desperately desires, yet destroys it because it is never truly his.  Now that I think of it, he creates followers to find companionship yet destroys them because of the arrogance he naturally administers due to his need to survive.  Yet with each fall, he rises to try again.  The cycle continues.  He damns himself.

Maybe this piece is more Kane than Raven, but I thought about the two of them equally as I wrote this.

The narrator of this story is…

Well, actually, you could say it's voiced from several people.

1. JR---He was my first narrator, originally.  A major focus for me throughout this piece was when he was set on fire by Kane.  Although it doesn't fit exactly, I can't deny that the event affected this story.

2. Someone from Raven's past---I love his character, but unfortunately, I don't know his extensive history, so I imagined it was voiced from an opponent whom Raven had fought before, and no, I wasn't speaking of Dreamer.

3. Rob Van Dam---In all honesty, he did not pass my mind once while I was writing this.  After looking at the reviews of this story, though, I gradually came to realize that this story made a great deal of sense if it had been written in his point of view.  He saw the conflict Kane had just before he took off the mask, so he'd probably understand Kane's pain more than most.  In the final inning, I would have chosen Rob as the narrator.

Forgive me for not updating.  Thanks to all who reviewed this story.  Good Night.
