Jei adjusted his backpack into a more comfortable position on his shoulders and let out a breath which stirred his silvery spiky bangs.Jei glanced out of the corner of his eye at the groups of kids also making their way to school.Little cliques of friends.Jei raised his lip in self scorn and shooks his head.
Up ahead at the school stood the red haired Schuldig flirting with a group of freshmans.Jei sighed loudly and stopped in his tracks watching Schuldig a second.He didn't want to be introduced to anymore of Schuldig's 'friends'.Jei turned on his heel and walked instead to the wall lining the courtyard of the school.Leaning against the wall, he let his overly heavy backpack slide down his shoulders to land with a thump on the pavement.Brad turned the corner and waved as he spotted Jei.
Jei waved back slightly and turned away to pick up his backpack once more and walk further down the courtyard to the school steps.Behind him, Brad frowned and turned to join Schuldig and the girls.Jei sat on the top of the steps and surveyed the scene before him.All of his friends were here except for Nagi, who was a year younger than them, but had been moved up thanks to his 'superior' brain capacity.
Jei eyed Nagi as he entered the courtyard a few minutes later and joined his friends.Jei sat there silently eyeing the group of his friends and the freshman.He didn't feel like tlaking to anyone today.He didn't even feel like coming to school today but his half drunken mother did not give him much of a choice.
Not caring what anyone thought of him at the moment, he layed back on the steps and stared up at the sky, lost in a daydream.A face appeared before his.Scowling, Jei turned away to watch the steps instead.
"What's wrong Jei?"A boy named Shun questioned.
Jei rewarded him with a scowl and flipped him off.Shun hauled him up by the front of his purple cutoff sleeve and slammed him against the wall.
"Don't act that way to me Jei.I was trying to be nice.Why are you always such an ass?!"Shun yelled in his face, breath foul.
Jei winced slightly and pushed against Shun's chest.Shun went flying and Jei started to reach into his back pocket for his dagger, then thought better of it and instead eyed the staring students.
"I am done with this.."He muttered to himself.He strolled from the courtyard, leaving his backpack full of stupid textbooks behind.Nagi stepped in front of him and froze him with his mind.
Brad put a hand on his shoulder and Schuldig stood silently at his side."Calm down Jei.Its almost time for school."
"Im not done with you freak!"Cried Shun.Shun found himself flown into the wall by an invisible hand.Jei lowered his head until his hair covered it and tried to stop himself from shaking with concealed rage.
"Let me go.."He muttered.Nagi watched him a moment."Is something wrong Jei?Ignore him..he's a jerk."
Jei excerted his mind power and time momentarily paused.During this time Jei slipped around his friends and down the street from the school.The strain on his mind was too much and he let time slip back into place and kept walking.Brad mind searched for his and then withdrew.
The mind reading Schuldig said telepathically.
