Disclaimer: I do not own any of these wonderful characters; they are the creation of a most brilliant J.K. Rowling.

Summery: Draco and Ginny find themselves caught by the Dark-Lord. When Ginny is killed, Draco takes action.

I saw it in slow motion,
Watched her fall,
her fiery hair splayed out behind her,
hitting the ground with a dull thud.
Her mouth half open in surprise,
her wand slipping from her dead grasp.
The sharp laughter that followed,
making the hair on the back of my neck stand on end.
How could he ruin the only thing I loved?
The only thing I cared about?
His cold grey eyes bore into mine and I knew,
I knew he cared more about the dark lord than me.

I stepped forward,
holding my wand tight in my sweaty palm.
I lunged at him, and raised my wand,
saying the first spell that came to my head,
And my father fell stunned.
Hooded men surrounded me,
and I knew it was no use.
I ran as fast as I could,
breaking the circle of death-eaters around me,
blocking the curses that were aimed at me.
I ran behind a tree and caught my breath,
listening to the shouts demanding I be found.

Later in the night the death eaters moved on,
all that was left was the lifeless form of my love.
The dying fire cast a soft glow on her milky skin,
and I pressed my lips against her cold forehead,
wishing for a miracle that would bring her back to me.
White hot tears splashed from my eyes,
and ran down her freckled cheek.
I rested my head against her firm stomach,
her soft red hair mixing with my own blonde locks.
I took off my cloak and covered her icy body.
"Good night my love," I whispered into her ear,
placing one more kiss on her lips,
before departing into the darkening night.
