Evangelion: Reset
Third Impact had come and gone. The city of Tokyo-3 had been scorched with energies that mankind was not even close to understanding. Not that there was much of mankind left to understand it. All that was left of mankind was one battered 14 year-old girl and one 14 year-old boy.
The thoughts going through Shinji's head were anything but bright.
'We may have lived, but how will we survive?' Shinji thought glumly, 'There is little food, little shelter, little anything. Asuka is terribly wounded, I don't even know if she will live. I wish I had done things differently.'
With that thought in his mind, Shinji laid his head down to rest and closed his eyes.

"We're sorry, due to the state of special emergency, no lines are currently available. This is a recording."
Upon hearing these words, Shinji's eyes snapped open. He dropped the phone he didn't know he had been holding, and took a few steps back in surprise. Shinji was further surprised when he looked around and saw that the area around him showed no signs of being scorched by Third Impact.
Shinji froze for a few seconds. Slowly, he realized there was something in his left hand. He held it up to his face and read it.
Shinji, I'll come and pick you up.
Misato
PS Look at this
An arrow was drawn to Misato's cleavage, which could be seen quite easily, as she was bending over. The postcard was marked with a kiss.
'This can't be happening,' was thought barreling through Shinji's head. On a whim, he decided to look slightly to the right.
"Oh boy," was the only comment the disbelieving boy could make.
Before him, he saw an ethereal, see-through Rei. He was momentarily distracted by a sudden flight of birds, and when he looked back, Rei was gone.
Suddenly, the ground shook. With a feeling of dread, Shinji looked behind him. From behind a hill, came JSSDF heavy aircraft backing up.
"Please God no," Shinji whispered. His prayers were not answered as Sachiel, the 3rd angel stepped out from behind the hill.
"I don't believe it," Shinji muttered, "It's happening again."

Not bad for a first time, eh?
Anyway, ever since I was a kid, when I watched a series, I always wondered what would happen if you took the hero at the end of the series, and put him at the beginning. That's where I got the idea.
Also, if anyone happens to know the name of the Eva's weaponry, besides the progressive knife, please e-mail me. I'm not entirely sure that Pallet Rifle is correct.
It appears that life does have a reset button, and it has just been pressed.
