Chapter One: The Auction
As Lara came out from the gym, Hilary handed a letter to her. She opened the envelope and read the letter:
Invitation for Lady Croft
The Auction of Python's Eye
Location: The Tellway Estate, New York
Time: Tuesday, 7pm
Hilary causally asked, "Would you be going, Miss. Lara?"
Lara thought to herself. Hmm, the Python's Eye, the world's most valuable jewel. Why would the world's richest man sell this jewel? After a while, she answered, "Yes, Hilary. I think I will find out what it is about."
Tuesday night, the wind in New York was cool. The Tellway Estate has some similarities to the Croft Mansion. But this is much bigger. By the way the guards have stationed themselves in and around the estate, this is not a simple auction. The front door opened as Lara walked into the ballroom were the function is being held. Kenneth Tellway, the fifty-year-old President of Tellway Corporation, delightly walked up to Lara and greeted, "Lady Croft, how nice of you to come. I am honoured."
