I used to think
This would last forever,
Just you and me,
Here together
Held you gently
And fed you lies,
Saying everything
Would be alright
Made you promises
I couldn't keep
Now I see,
It was all a dream
As we stand here alone,
I can see the end
I know that I'll never
Be able to hold you again
Still, you come to me
For one last embrace
But you slip right past me;
You're just a little too late
The time has come,
Now I understand
That love is something
I can never have.
