Author's Note: This is my first fic. Since I don't know what happened in Return of the King, I'll just put in the things that were obvious (Sauron and Saruman being defeated, Aragorn becoming King of Gondor and marrying Arwen, etc.) and some things I've made up. This fic is Anti-Mary Sue and takes place 1 year after the events of Lord of the Rings.

Disclaimer: I don't own Lord of the Rings or anything in it. I do own this fic and anything I made up for it.

Prologue

It was a dark, quiet night in Rivendell. There wasn't anything to worry about since Sauron and Saruman were dead, the few remaining Orcs and Uruk-Hai were scattered and had no leader, and the Ring was destroyed. It was around 1 A.M when there was a strange noise outside of the home of an elf named Rú mil Mithrandí r.

Rú mil was sound asleep and didn't know of the danger that lurked right outside of his house. The door slowly opened and a figure walked in. A few seconds later there was screaming, and then there was silence again. Rú mil's neighbors, Mahtan Ancalimë and Eä rendur Anwamanë , heard the screams and went to check what had happened to their neighbor. They met in front of Rú mil's house and went inside. There was nothing, really. No Rú mil Mithrandí r, no danger. The only sign of anything was the messed up bed.

The two elves decided to leave. They slowly turned around. There was more screaming. After the screams were finished a figure left the house.

The next afternoon at Gondor, King Aragorn was sitting on his throne. His wife, Queen Arwen, was busy reading the Elvish newspaper that had to be specially retrieved because Arwen was the only elf in Gondor. She ran into the room with an urgent look on her face. She showed King Aragorn the newspaper and he began reading the headlines to see what was extremely important.

"Strike at North Pole: Workers sick of making toys, Lord Elrond plans to blow up King of Gondor with a grenade… why isn't there anything new in here?" asked Aragorn.

"Look at the next article, 3 mysterious disappearances in Rivendell," read Arwen.

"Well, at least it's something that wasn't in the paper for the last 3 months," declared Aragorn.

"I was about to cancel my subscription to this paper," Arwen agreed.

Aragorn read the article

"We have to do something. Maybe Sauron is back," he stated after he had finished.

"Let's go find out more about the disappearances," said Arwen.

"In case this is dangerous or your dad throws a grenade at me again, I think I'd better take three bodyguards," said Aragorn.

"Good idea," Arwen concurred.
