This is my new (and improved) version. I hope it turns out better that the last one!

The sun had set in Minas Tirith. Aragorn Arathornion, King Elessar, had died. His son, Eldarion, had just been crowned king.
"With a heavy heart do I accept this crown," he had said.
Yet is was a joyous occasion. Elessar had laid down his life willingly, like the kings of Numenor of old. Of the people that attended the funeral and coronation were the last remaining members of the Fellowship, Legolas and Gimli, who was now old and white-bearded. Legolas had bound the crown of the king, the Elendimir, upon his brow, and men marveled at his glory. Eldarion stood to his full height and spoke:
"Here ye now, people of Gondor and the North, men of Rohan, Elf and Dwarf, and all ye faithful. I, Eldarion, son of Elessar, now take up the kingship of the realms of the Dunedain. I will fufill all the duties of the king, and my prayer to the Valar is that I may keep them. May I be accursed if I break my oaths."
And the king swore many oaths, from retaking the Oath of Cirion, for the Rohirrim, even unto swearing to the fell men of Harad and Rhun, that they should never set foot in his kingdoms again.
That was twenty years ago.
Easterlings had taken control of the empty land of Mordor and had begun to stir up the foul people of Khand. The Haradrim retook Umbar and spread terror as far as Lebennin and Eithir. Something was afoot, and the king was bewildered. What salvation could come to his aid?
Perhaps someone of his own house?
