A Closed Door; No Open Window
I sighted him with another,
merrily walking down the hall.
My world cried and I fell on my knees.
The day went on, dry and weary -
No one was there to comfort me
And help endure the pain.

They reached and opened
the door at the other end;
And never went out from there again.
I quickly paced,
muddy footprints on the floor...
Too late, there wasn't any
other open door.

My hope was back as I continued my search for a window.
Alas!
I found one but it was far from my reach.
I continued the search
And found another window.
Fortune lost, too, it was closed.
