My Immortal
Daria looked sadly down at her boyfriend Trent's grave. It had been 2 weeks since the tragic accident that had claimed her loves life.
I'm so tired of being here
Suppressed by all my childish fears And if you have to leave I wish that you would just leave Because your presence still lingers here And it won't leave me alone.
Everywhere she turned there were reminders of her and Trent's life together. She wished that she could have somehow prevented his death. He died before his time, still so young, and they had plans to get married in the future, have children.
These wounds won't seem to heal
This pain is just too real There's just too much that time cannot erase.
They had gone through so much together, Daria had always been there for both Trent and Jane after their mother and father had been killed in a plane crash a few years ago, she had comforted Trent and helped him get over the nightmares that plagued him each night.
You cried I'd wipe away all of your tears
When you'd scream I'd fight away all of your fears And I held your hand through all of these years But you still have all of me.
As Daria stood there staring at his grave she remembered the crush that she had on Trent when she had been in high school. She also thought about all of the times since his passing that she had dreamt of him in pain and the times she had seen people in the streets that looked so much like Trent, but of course they never were.
You used to captivate me by your resonating light
But now I'm bound by the life you left behind Your face it haunts My once pleasant dreams Your voice it chased away all the sanity in me These wounds won't seem to heal This pain is just too real There's just too much that time cannot erase.
She knew that she had to get over him, Trent was gone and he was never coming back. It was time to move on with her life.but it was just too hard. She was all alone with no friends to comfort her, Jane had moved after Trent died, claiming that Lawndale held too many painful memories for her, and her family was no help, they didn't have time for her in their busy schedules. Sure her mother had given Daria her condolences on her loss but that was the end of it. She really was alone.
I tried so hard to tell myself that you're gone
But though you're still with me I've been alone along.
Daria slowly started to walk away from her loves grave and from the cemetery. It was then that she came to the decision of leaving Lawndale and never coming back. She could always go to Boston and visit Jane, and after that, well she was sure that she would find out eventually. As she walked away she whispered four little words filled with so much emotion that many would not believe that Daria Morgendorffer had said them, " I love you Trent." And with that Daria left Lawndale once and for all.
