Yesterday was Caroline's (xoxohiei) b-day and today we are celebrating it! I am going to finally see Vampire Princess Miyu! Yay! So I figured that I'd do a Rurouni Kenshin fic, I know that Kenshin is one of our beloved bishies with red hair. And even if he doesn't have another dead sexy alter ego, he has one two sides we love, and he doesn't have a rose like our other redhead, but he was a manslayer and he... n/m... I am just going to the story!

Disclaimer: I don't own the show know as Rurouni Kenshin Insert Death-threat here

Pairing: KaoruxKenshin. I don't even like Kaoru... oro... ^^X

~A Baby's First Words~

~To Caroline on her B-day!~

***

Kenshin held his child on his knee. "When are you going to speak, baby? I know you can."

"Nee... Nee..." his son squeaked.

"Oro..." Kenshin sighed. "I better go give you to Kaoru..."

The little kid just looked at his father with pride. You could read in his eyes he was saying, "You're da best, Touchan!"

Kenshin smiled a little and they went inside.

The child reached out for Kaoru, who was getting ready for lunch.

"He wants to be with you, that he wants," Kenshin said brightly.

Kaoru sighed and took her son while Kenshin started to set the table.

"Ooo... ooo..." the baby said.

"What's a matter?" Kaoru asked.

The baby just sighed.

Kenshin smiled. "He must want to speak..."

Kaoru nodded. "I wonder what he'll say..."

The child just kept making 'oo' noises.

Kaoru whispered into the child's ear, "You're going to speak today, I know it!"

The baby nodded as she placed him at the table.

They ate their rice, the baby still making noises (A/N: look, I can't remember the twerp's name, LEAVE ME ALONE!)

Kenshin looked at him.

Kaoru did too.

Then suddenly, he said his first word.

A special word to the family.

Indeed it was.

"ORO!" the baby screamed, laughing his head off.
