It is the total union

The lack of boundaries and limits

The loss of separation

I see my soul

She lies in the cold dark of the cobalt tint

She retains the face of an angel

Each exhalation blesses me

Touch is our boundary

Touch is our enemy

Touch is that needle that pulses under our hearts

And stabs you every time you think of it

I can sit here forever and watch her

In this pewter stained room

As her soft snores draw my emotions to the surface

The milky light of the dawn presses her cheek and runs through her hair

Touch is the wall

Touch is a barrier that keeps our hands from linking

Touch is the devil that holds back the ring

Touch is the evil that was brought to skin

The sun's rose hues have shaded the world

Just like her love has brightened my life

Quietly, before she can wake up and stop me

I give her a kiss
