Surrounded by the roaring sounds of motors and the cheery gossip of people,
Chris Redfield sits on a bench with pen and paper in hand. It was hard for
him to write, for he felt so guilty. He ended up crumbling many pieces of
paper up and carelessly tossing them towards a wastebasket to his left.
Repeatedly this happened until he thought of a way to express his absence
to her. As the minutes pass by, the letter progressed and so did his
confidence, but his train of thought was diminished at the sight of a young
female that was passing by with light steps. Chris sighs a bit and places
his left hand on his forehead. Shading his eyes so the girl could not see
his troublesome stare. "She looks the same age as Claire.."
The guilt was back, and his heart sank to the depths of no return. The young girl gives Chris a passing glance, but does not stop. Soon she is around the corner and out of sight. With a sigh of relief he lowers his hand and looks back to the letter. He would have to finish this sooner or later, so his hands begin to move. Words sprout upon the cream colored paper once again, and once again his heart began to rise with the extra boost of confidence.
"I'm sorry Claire."
His conclusion was brief. Claire would probably take the excuse as another lame one he always gave her in exchange for her calmness. He regretted the day he even started those. Everyone makes mistakes sometime in their lifetime, but he decided not to make another. With a somewhat saddened look, his body rises into a standing position and he begins to walk down the sidewalk. Memories of his childhood began to flutter through his head. Claire had been the only family he had since their parents died.
In no time it seemed that he was at the corner where he had seen the young girl pass by. He had never thought of how he would get his letter to, for he had no idea to where Claire was. Maybe she stayed at home like he directed her to do? He highly doubted it because Claire was an impatient girl. When she felt Chris was hiding something and wouldn't tell what it was, she would seek the answer out herself. His head slowly shakes from side to side when he thinks of this. Why couldn't she be like any 'normal' sister and do as directed? His concentration was broken at the calling of his name.
"Chris!" The yell sounded distant and somewhat familiar. He cocked an eyebrow at this, trying to figure out who or what it was. His chocolate color eyes glance around in search of the source of the call. Soon, they catch a young man running towards him as fast as his legs could carry him. The cry had come from the other side of the street. The passing cars made it sound like it was far away, but really only a couple of meters away.
The man was Leon S. Kennedy, running to him with news of his sister. Claire feared no danger, and sought to find Chris in Europe after leaving Raccoon City. She accidentally intruded on Umbrella while searching for Chris and got thrown into a jail cell where she would remain until they decide on what to do with her. Dodging cars and what not, Leon makes his way to the other side of the street, and halts about two feet away from him. His respiration had quickened, and he was bent over with his hands upon the knees of his blue jean pants. Closing his water colored eyes, he reports.
"Chris." He mutters between gasps. "Claire's.Been.Caught." After saying this, Leon raises to a standing position. He was ready for any 'drastic' reaction that may come from Chris, but he knew that Chris would save his sister from any kind of danger.
Authors note: This is my first fan fic so tell me how the prologue went. Thanks a bunch!
