Sella hated it when she was expected to save her 'sister' from any potential issues that could seriously cause damage to the Emiya/Einzbern household.
She never enlisted for that chore when she accepted to work as a 'house-helper'/maid to Lady Irisviel, yet it was expected of her to do things to prevent 'chaos from taking over' from time to time. And the news that she now had to prepare the meal for an invited guest that she was familiar with and she knew why had been invited for left the strict homunculus in a seriously-constrained state of mind.
In a sense, she found Illya's favorite teacher to be a good model for the child. Despite the few times she had gotten 'quirky' over some topics, the young girl had shown incredible recovery into a proper path to adulthood. But no, this wasn't the issue- John Bukharin was not the issue. It was Leysritt's reason to go through these lengths to have him around her.
Sella was aware of Leysritt's attraction for the teacher. One would be foolish to call it love and should easily see how it was more of an infatuation. There wasn't much sense to it, or shouldn't have been much if not for the fact that Lady Irisviel saw fit to fill Leysritt's mind with 'rubbish'. As much as Sella respected her lady, she also knew that Irisviel knew close to nothing about dating, and what she perceived as an 'approach' was more of what her and her husband had when they first meet. An understanding that slowly expanded until love came through it.
But this wasn't the same case, and even now she could tell Liz was unsure of what she was supposed to do about this. Irisviel told her that she should find weaknesses to use against John's current girlfriend? The usually-lazy maid found no relevant weakness that she could exploit on the matter. After all, what's the point of bringing out faults of a person that were also present on those bringing these out.
It was a bit complicated, that much Sella knew. And, truth be told, Love never appealed much to her.
Perhaps it was the complicated requirements behind it, or the lack of a raw feeling that could make all these grand deeds reasonable to endure, or perhaps it was the fact she didn't see a point from straying from such a messy yet lovely status quo she was in. Nonetheless, her 'sister' was clearly plotting her own social doom with this ordeal she concocted and... she felt responsible to keep her somewhat afloat about it.
Taking a break from the chores just a few hours after lunch, Sella found Leysritt browsing her limited wardrobe for a proper outfit to wear for the dinner event. The issue? All those combinations were showing an excessive amount of skin. Sella knew, much to her dismay, that some of that had to be revealed out of 'showing off', but too much could easily translate as something poor out of the woman. In this case, Leysritt was way overboard about it.
"Liz."
The short-haired homunculus paused and looked at her with a mostly innocent look. "Yes, Sella?"
Now, how to get this topic properly brought up?
Her lips twitched. "How confident are you for this dinner?"
The question seemed to be strong enough to draw a surprised look out of the usually-stoic girl. "Confident?"
"What is your current goal for tonight?"
"...A kiss."
Sella sighed and held back from facepalming. "Liz, that's... do you know this is how one should expect a date to end, right?"
"Yes," Leysritt admitted.
"And that this is not going to be seen by him as a date since he is already dating, right?"
The answer to this one came out a bit later compared to before, the short-haired young woman taking a moment to think more on the question.
"...Yes."
"So, you should not push it."
Liz's head bowed in a somewhat sad and deflated manner. And the sight was surprisingly disheartening considering the many times Sella had seen her drained about something. This was... more important than Sella had thought for her 'sister'.
"However," The strict maid remarked, "You should try to at least establish a connection first thing first."
Leysritt perked up at this, eyes widening a fraction. "You... You think so?"
"I am aware that what I am going to tell you goes against so many things I think of romance- but if you feel you want to have a shot, you should not go as crazy about it as Lady Irisviel told you to do. Get a chance to know him some more, and not make it too obvious that you have a crush on him."
...
"Do you think Lady Irisviel is... wrong?" Leysritt inquired, sounding surprised considering the many times Sella bowed down to Irisviel's somewhat weird logic.
"I think she has no awareness on how to handle this. I remind you that she didn't have a chance to date her husband, and that the end result was concocted out of different circumstances. Has she experienced more than just a relationship that was as smooth as it went for her?"
Leysritt shook her head, and seemed to understand the issue.
"So, I shouldn't... push it?"
"Take your pace, find his own pace- make sure that both have a good time and... don't give up."
A strange knot formed on her chest right as she saw Liz's smile at her. It was the first time she saw her 'sister' beaming in this manner and it made Sella feel happy. No, it wasn't just happiness. It was... Pride.
Still, the next part was the most complicated as it was about finding the proper outfit to match a sense of 'forwardness' without going into some distasteful choices which may offer a wrong extent of the interest Liz had for John. And due to a general lack of grasp Sella had on fashion in general, the hurdle itself proved to be worthy of a few troubled hours.
By the end of that intense dress-up session, Sella was sure they found the best balanced set but... she also realized she had skipped work a lot and she groaned and shook herself at how time-draining dating was.
Another reason to not consider such an activity for herself.
I have to say, I didn't expect for Irisviel and Kiritsugu to be out of town for different reasons.
Kerry was busy with some 'legal chores' with Sai/Sigma in Tokyo, while Irisviel was checking for some kimonos made in Osaka together with 'an old friend of Kiritsugu' for something important. Perhaps a celebration for Sai's official adoption? I decided to not pry on the matter as, officially-speaking, I knew not who Sai was and it was best to keep quiet about it to prevent any changes in that regard.
Still, dinner at the Emiya's household and... Illya once again took me for a tour of the house while Sella was finishing preparing the meal and keeping Shirou from 'interfering' with that chore. It was a bit amusing, but not as interesting as Leysritt actually sounding somewhat more active than usual. Rather than sounding as awkward as she was with the invitation, Liz behaved in a somewhat more coherent and confident manner. Rather friendly and I felt somewhat at easy around it.
The dinner itself went on brilliantly as I found no reason to complain about anything. Nothing crazy happened, Illya was rather giddy to bring up some of her new favorite shows, and Leysritt would find ways to tag along the conversation from time to time without feeling too disruptive with these interventions. She also wore comfortable clothes that barely showed skin so I didn't feel anyting but just curiosity and an approach for mere friendship.
Maybe I had been wrong in that regard, that she tried to seduce me or something and, to an extent, I could see that possibility as true. In fact, she even asked if I could tag along for a small event at the park in two days she had planned to go with Illya about one of her favorite shows. While that would raise some alarm, I knew it was one of those events where there wasn't much of a chance to do anything 'cray-cray' about it.
So, I felt confident enough to accept the offer. The food was delicious, the entire event felt quite as pleasant as having dinner at home, and I left the house without facing any issue at the end of dinner.
In a way, I should have known that the day wasn't going to end in that simple note. I had this gut-feeling going through the entire night that made it clear how I wasn't going to be spared by some surprise. Turns out that the real 'issue' came to be at the flat while I was out. In fact, I returned to find the place a bit tense as Quartz had 'contained' Eli for behaving quite aggressively around.
With Kiara sleeping already, the child wasn't involved or saw the skirmish between the four Servant in the house. Eli just snapped about something that Setanta had said about me and her, and that had gotten her nutty to the point of trying to kill on sight. A bit of an unexpected situation, yet it was a bit more awkward than it sounded when I finally confronted her. Tied up with reinforced strings of metal, the girl tried to get up and even crawl up to me.
"Mastah~! Mastah~ is~ here~!"
From aggressive to docile, Quartz took a look into her 'stats' and gave me a very unexpected news.
"Elizabeth is currently going through an anomalous Saint Graph modification one that could hurt her if not treated properly," The Mystic Code reasoned.
I frowned. "What does that mean? How do we fix that?"
"It means, John, that Elizabeth's multiple personalities are all trying to converge within her main personality and are all craving the same thing. It's possible that her draconic biology has been multiplied to match the numerous elements in her current state of self and she is... feeling the repercussion of this through what seem to be a 'heat cycle'."
...Oh.
"The solution is to get her libido under check."
Shit.
"Yes~! Mastah's cock! I want Mastah's cock~!" She purred happily, way too into it.
Heck, she was already wetting the chair she was on and I was quite sure it wasn't pee.
I turned back to Quartz and the Kaleidostick said nothing. Now, in these situations you can either roll with it or 'roll with it with style'. And while I could tell this move was going to give Eli many reasons to complain, I asked for a few things that slowly turned Eli from giddy to gloomy very soon.
After all, with the amount of sex toys now in my possession as I carried her to my bedroom for some 'sexual-relief assistance', she may as well not see any sexy time happening in the near future.
But boy, oh boy- I sure was underestimating how hungry the dragonette was...
