As Long As I Have You
Chapter 1
After the long and tiring trip, Higurashi Kagome stepped down from the plane nervously in the capital of China, Beijing. Though she had come this far, the nervousness still hadn't left her. This is the pageant for Miss. Universe. A lot of the countries had chosen one contestant from their own competitions. Kagome had been awfully lucky to come here. But as she walked on the ground, that's the farthest thing from her mind.
Everywhere around her, there are beautiful and confident girls just like her. Different skin colors, different hair colors, different eye colors. Coming from Japan, Kagome was used to the modest attitude of Japanese women, but now seemingly everyone except her, are talking with great ease.
"Come on, girls, let's get into the cars. Eight people per limousine! Eight!" A man with a loud speaker shouted in English. Kagome's English is fairly fluent, so she walked toward the huge lines of limousines at this time.
As she boarded the car, there are already three girls in there. Kagome sat down quietly on the seat, careful not to wrinkle the traveling dress she's wearing. Before the Miss Japan competition, twenty years old Kagome had been a young and naïve sophomore in college, the only reason she entered the competition, was because she was hoping to get a scholarship from it. But surprisingly enough, she won within the sophisticated beauties and now, she is in Beijing, competing for Miss. Universe.
"Hey, I'm Valerie, from France." The attractive blond girl across from Kagome said with great ease as four more girls got on and they started to roll away slowly.
"My name is Bixiao, I'm from Suzhou, China." The Chinese girl said friendly.
Now relaxed, Kagome noticed other than Bixiao, there are two other Asian looking girls in the car.
Decide to join in, Kagome followed elegantly: "I'm Higurashi Kagome, from Japan." She
"Oh you are from Japan? That's great! I'm Sango, from Denmark, but my parents are both Japanese." One of the Asian girl said with great enthusiasm, which confirmed Kagome's guess.
"I'm Kikyou, from the States." The other girl said, but unlike the others, there's a chill in her tone.
"You are." The girl Sango inquired but cut off by Kikyou.
"I'm Japanese."
The group fell silent for a while, but soon after the other girls finished their self introductions, the car slowed down, they've arrived at the hotel.

"Damn the drivers." Hurried through the huge glass door, Sesshoumaru thought to himself. The traffic in the capital of China had been horrible, which really made Sesshoumaru regret his decision. He had be selected to be one of the judges in the Miss. Universe Pageant, though it's a special honor, but Sesshoumaru still thought about it twice before he agreed to it.
Checking in at the front desk, Sesshoumaru frowned at the room information. 'Great, I have to live in the room with two other guys.'
