"Mastermind"
The intensity of it might drive one mad
The burning desire to release it upon those who torture him
The horrific life that he is forced to not live
But endure
A mind so battered
A soul so torn
If the eyes are the window to the soul
Golden orbs might show the chaos that resides within
Though behind the chaos hides the stricken little boy
So young was he when it all began
Forgotten and abandoned
Only to be beaten and broken
A scream echoes in the night
From the lonely man now
A mind so tired
A soul so broken
And now he wonders
When the voices keep him up at night
Why does he stay and endure?
Questions unanswered
He lies down with only the dreamless thoughts of the individual next door
To keep the voices at bay
And one more tortured soul sleeps.
