FORSAKEN
He has forsaken me. Nicholas, my protégé, my son.
My love.
You were a strange boy, with your glinting eyes and smooth, polished teeth. That odd humanity you embraced like a safety blanket, a fish, swimming through a dark abyss filled with angry vampires of whom you never were part. Not really.
I beat you with a hammer once. I shorn you of your beard. And once, once, I robbed you of your humanity.
You were my finest creation, Nicholas, and my most painful.
Why have you done this? Forcing me to destroy what I loved?
I suppose it was justice; you destroyed your love because of what I made you, so you had to make me do the same.
I will never find another one like you, another person to share my heart, my soul.
Oh Nicholas.
Why have you forsaken me?
