Author's Note: This is one of my longest poems I have written. It is also
probably one of my saddest poems. Many of my poems have to do with my real

Final Flame:
What is pain?
And does it hurt so?
I knew you,
But you never knew me.
So why does it hurt?
I will never see you again,
Unless by random chance.
I never said one word,
To make you go away.
Every time I close my eyes,
I see your face,
And wished you stayed.
Every time I think about you,
That pain strikes once more.
I never said one word,
To make you stay, or even go away,
Forever more.
So why do you leave me?
Leave me with no shoulder to cry on,
No hope to see,
And no hope to heal the pain,
That you have caused me.
All I see is darkness,
In this growing light.
Nothing is clear,
All I hear is fear,
On this starless night.
I wish I could of said,
One thing before you left:
I love you.
And I will never forget,
Your smile,
Your laugh,
I will never forget you.
You.the one who is killing me,
Without my knowing.
Now, I know this pain, it is heartbreak,
a lover's final flame.
