Dreamland II: Freddy's Back

Ash slumbered uneasily. He had been sleeping badly ever since his little dream with Freddy.

A gravely cackle was heard as Ash felt he was falling down an endless hole, falling forever more. He landed with a thud in Elm Street, nightmare style.

"One Two, Freddy's coming for you, Three four better lock your door. Five six, grab your crucifix. Seven eight better stay up late. Nine Ten," the song trailed off..........

"Never sleep again!" he heard a familiar voice say. Ash turned to see someone he had never expected to see again.

"Dear God!" Ash cried.

"God, my boy is all relative," said Freddy. "I'll swallow your soul and leave your corpse."

Ash fired his boomstick, hitting Freddy with endless rounds of ammo. "Gee," said Freddy, "that tickles."

Ash said, "You died so easily before!"

Freddy countered, "That was just the warm up! This is the real deal!"

Ash watched as Freddy stalked toward him, obviously angry. Freddy gestured and the ground dissolved, grabbing Ash and anchoring him in place.

"Why are you doing this?" said Ash.

Freddy refused to answer as he continued lumbering toward Ash. Ash shrieked as the razors cut into the man's flesh, parting the skin. He brought his boomstick to bear on Freddy, firing hot steel into the Nightmare King's head.

Freddy just grinned and he said, "Welcome to my Nightmare, the Nightmare on Elm Street!"

The last thing Ash saw was Freddy's hand scraping deep into his neck. As his severed head fell, Ash listened to the crazy man's howling laughter.

Freddy turned and strode away. "All in a night's work," the Nightmare King muttered. He opened his mouth and laughed long, hard, and deep.

This is what you get for fighting the unstoppable!
