A lot of people think I'm stupid
Just because I don't do the homework
Or I don't get the highest marks on tests
But really…
I'm as smart as anyone else is!
I mean…
I got talent
Tai says so often
And all I'd really have to do is actually try in school
To get good grades
But that's the thing…
I don't do that because what I am
Is what everyone expects of me
So I don't try harder in class
I fool around all the time
I get kicked out of school every once and a while
And I do this all…
Because I'm sure this is what they expect from
'Dumb ol' Davis'
But I'm not dumb ol' Davis!
Because I'm not dumb!
And I wish that people would just look beyond the outer layer…
And see what's inside
As well as stop playing games with me!
I know she doesn't like me…
And yet she still plays games with me!

It's not right
You shouldn't do that to someone that cares about you…
But that's fine
Because they just expect me to sit back and pout
And not do anything about it
Because that's what
'Dumb ol' Davis' would do
But I'm not that person
And I wish everyone else would see that.
