~~Poetry? Since when do I write poetry? Please be kind in your reviews, I wrote this at three AM while missing my fiancée terribly and watching the last episodes of Sailor Moon Stars.
~~*************************************************************~~
I'm not afraid to watch them leave,
As one by one they flee.
I know that someday, someday soon,
The only one left will be me.
Amelia was the first to run,
Away from all of us.
She knew in her heart she had to go
Seek out things good and just.
Her chimera's love she left behind
As she headed out the door,
She never looked over her shoulder at me,
Never seeing my heart on the floor
I'm not afraid to watch them leave,
As one by one they flee.
I know that someday, someday soon,
The only one left will be me.
The next to leave was Gourry, though,
It's very strange to say.
He swore he'd stay with me forever,
Until Sylphiel came his way.
I knew that he would leave me then,
Despite all his pretty words.
As I watch him walk her down the aisle,
Smiling like little love birds.
I'm not afraid to watch them leave,
As one by one they flee.
I know that someday, someday soon,
The only one left will be me.
I know the night is coming fast,
When I will be all alone.
As I sit here in my quiet room,
Gnawing at this old bone.
I'll be fine alone, I know I will,
But tell me, why does it ache?
To know that you will leave me next,
Probably by the time I awake.
I'll leave a flower at your door,
So that maybe you will see,
Just how much you've always meant to us,
And what you mean to me.
I'm not afraid to watch them leave,
As one by one they flee,
I know that someday, someday soon,
The only one left will be me.
I lay the rose down at your door,
And cannot help but wonder,
How my heart has come to fall,
Into this lovely blunder.
I will not be afraid when you go,
I am not sure what I will do.
But I hope, my dear chimera,
That you know that I love you.
I'll leave this flower and lock of hair,
Here beneath your door,
And leave before you can leave me,
And leave me alone on the shore.
Farewell, my darling friend, my love,
I hope that your dreams are kind,
And I also pray that once in a while,
You'll allow me to cross your mind.
I'm not afraid to watch them leave,
As one by one they flee.
I hope that someday, someday soon,
The one that you love. . . will be me.
