He let it fall on his face.
He looked blankly at the sky
Taking in its darkened grace.
Above him were the heavens,
And he was sure that they were grand,
But he was merely a mortal
Who was forever bound to the land.
He had come from space
Miles away,
He traveled for quite a time.
He found something worth fighting for
To give him peace of mind.
He had looked all over for that something,
The fire to light his soul.
The final part of his fire
The flame for his charcoal.
And now. She was gone.
She stood outside in the sun,
She felt it warm her face.
She looked adoringly at the heavens
Taking in their grace.
Above her, there was a blue sky,
She was certain that it was grand.
But she was merely a mortal girl,
An "asset" to her land.
She had come from royalty
She had been taken away
But finally, it returned.
And she had met
The one she loved
But he had never returned.
The peace of mind
She longed to find
It was lost.
In the rain,
In the light,
True love will persevere.
Never ignore
The ones you love;
Or repeat what happened here.
