Predictions and Secrets
Sybill Trelawney lighted another incense stick. Apart from being used for her fortune telling, they also kept the annoying round of summer mosquitoes away from her tower.
She set her crystal ball down on her table next to the daises and started gazing into it. She saw the usual fogginess and not much else; Trelawney wasn't called a dud for nothing.but wait.she saw a shadow! Maybe she would see something for the first time in her life!
Her heart beat faster, until she could hear it thumping clearly in the back of her head. She concentrated harder; maybe she would actually See this time!
A bug landed on top of her head. She swatted at in angrily.
"Bugs!" she thought to herself. She had always hated them since she had caught malaria when she was a young girl.
"Such a warm day." she thought, "Maybe a quick nap would do."
She crawled into bed fully clothed, and no covers. After all, it was the middle of July.
*~*~*
Sybill Trelawney woke up with a start. She had been asleep for a time she thought. She checked her magic calendar. 12th of August 1996. She jumped out of bed quickly. She had been asleep for three weeks. What the other members of staff must have thought!
"Wait." she thought, "the other members off staff don't see me often enough.unless.last night was a staff meeting."
"Shit" she said out loud. She was surprised at herself. She wasn't one for using swear words.
Then in an instant nano-second, her dream hit her. The powerful words drew back to her memory. " Secrets lie within others
A certain raven may find
That her family is not as it seems to be
Her father is not of our kind
Her mother is not dead.
Her is that of the moon calendar Lunar,
And her surname is the oppisite of war
Until she knows the truth she is in grave danger."
"A Prediction!!" Sybill thought, "A real prediction!"
She repeated the words to herself. "Oh shit! (She had now totally forgotten about not using swear words.)
"I have to warn Luna."
*~*~*
Sybill Trelawney was writing a letter to Luna.
Dear Luna,
I had a prediction last night. It went like this.
Secrets lie within others
"A certain raven may find
That her family is not as it seems to be
Her father is not of our kind
Her mother is not dead.
Her is that of the moon calendar Lunar,
And her surname is the oppisite of war
Until she kno-"
There was a ruffling in the corner of the room.
"Who's there?" Trelaney whimpered.
She swore she heard some one hiss back to her. "I. a faithful follower of the Dark Lord. Not that matters to you. I will finish you." A swish, "Avada Kedavra"
*~*~*
Two days later Sybill Trelawney was found dead on the floor with a expression of surprise on her face.
