Judgement's Gate

Can you face the trials of Judgement's Gate,

The rigors of your love?

Are you willing to succumb to fate,

To have your answers from above?

As you walk through you may be broken,

Your heart might fail or die.

This test is merely heaven's token,

Do you still wish to try?

Another was given this same choice,

Stood here with love in her eyes.

The Gate gave her fears a voice,

And showed her all her lies.

They came together as though by chance,

But it wasn't chance at all.

The gods plot all happenstance,

From birth until the fall.

He won her heart with sword and spell,

Wooed her with a song.

And as her bosom began to swell,

She thought that he could do no wrong.

Alas, she chose to walk the Gate,

For she thought she had no doubts.

Her love lashed out against her mate,

And left him on forgotten routes.

Reaching out with rage and pain,

She touched her unborn son.

Instead of love she saw a chain,

And then she turned to run.

Her heart was torn and rent in two,

Her soul was lost to time.

She stood here, same as you,

And now she sings this very rhyme.

Both lies and truth must enter here,

Your faith must be complete.

Pain and sorrow and mingled fear,

Must cross here with your feet.

So if you wish to take this test,

Bring both love and hate.

If yours is love it will be blessed,

By the magic here in Judgement's Gate.
