She is only eleven the first time it happens. It is hot and rough and she cries out for it to end. He ignores her pleas and moves harder and faster and deeper and she feels like she is being split apart. When he finishes, her sheets are stained with blood and her cheeks are wet with tears and her nails have made tiny crescent moons in his flesh. He calls her a good girl but says next time she must not fight him and she cries because she knows he will be back.
She speaks not a word the next morning. He smiles at her and her brothers and she wonders whether it has ever happened to them. But she shakes off this thought, because they can still look him in the eye and smile back and she knows if she even tried she would vomit.
He comes to her again a week later, just as she begins to hope that it is over. He comes to her and he is angry and he yells at her for ignoring him and he drives into her hard and slaps her face and this time he loves to hear her beg. He taunts her and tells her to cry louder because he has charmed the door and no one else can hear.
The next night he apologizes and it is so slow and gentle that she can almost enjoy it. He holds her and whispers that he loves her and calls her his little girl and she bites her lip to keep from sobbing. She wonders what is wrong with her and why he does these things to her and god, she must be sick because when he is like this she thinks that she could love him.
It is not until she is thirteen that she finds an escape. It comes in the form of a razor blade and it can take everything away. She pushes the edge across her skin and watches the blood flow and forgets who she is and what has happened. Scars look good on her pale skin and so does blood and the steel is comforting and she decides that she likes this very much.
The next time that he comes to her, she surprises him. It hurts when he is inside her. It hurts like hell and it makes her want to scream and yet, this time, she enjoys it. She moans in ecstasy and begs him to press in harder and he smiles and obeys.
When she is sixteen, he is killed, and her family grieves and she feels numb. No one understands and they ask her if she is ok and they assume she is in shock. They mumble 'poor thing' and pat her awkwardly on the back and she just shakes her head because they will never know. Daddy stole her innocence and now he is six feet in the ground and no one will ever know and somehow, she likes it that way.
