The Last One Left
By D.B.Vixen
The kit came out of hiding when everything settled down outside the barrel. The once populated village was now to the population of one. Everyone one was gone, there weren't even a sign of a causality around. Felling frighten, the lonely kit ran to her home, where her family once lived, like the others huts her home was empty of living presence, expect for her. " Mom, Trixie, Gyro, Con! Are you here?" she shouted. But there was no answer. The family she once known and loved had disappeared into thin air. Even though she couldn't take them sometimes, she never wanted them to leave her. A tear dropped from her furry face as she walked through her former home. In doubt and exhaustion, she fell on her knees and howled. The tears fall onto the ground as she let out a moaning howl which symbolize her emotions of loneliness and sadness. As she was getting up from her knees, she noticed a map on the floor. " Where did this map come from?" she pondered. She glazed the mysterious map with curious and anxious eyes, hoping that it may lead to answers to the whereabouts of everyone. The map was the mapping of the entire areas of the world she lived in. She remembered her mom telling stories about the different lands and kingdoms that their world possessed. As she excitedly glazed about, she noticed a certain area that was circled on the map, there was one large land and small lands under it. For some strange reason this area was circled darkly with a black maker. " Maybe this a clue!" She smiled with delight. She quickly rose up from the floor and started to pack her things, and went out of the house. " Don't worry mom, I'll help you!" Just before for setting out she carved a monument of wood and sat it next to the entrance of her village. The eager kit trotted into the woods with in her red hooded robe with determination in her eyes. The monument stated " If something is missing doesn't mean its gone for good."
