"Do you think we should go to the gift shop, buy hats at a roll cart, or get coffee first?" Lorelai asked.
They were driving to the airport.
It was 4:00 in the morning and they had to get to the airport by 4:30.
Their plane took off at 6:30A.M.
Rory yawned, "Sleep?" she guessed.
"Not an option."
"Where there's a bench, there's a way." Rory sighed.
"You make me laugh, ah, ha, ha, ha! My funny friend, don't make me bend in half!" Lorelai sang.
Rory groaned, "Don't sing!"
"99 bottles of pop on the wall, 99 bottles of pop! You take one down and pass it around, 98 bottles of pop on the wall!" Lorelai grinned.
"Argg!"
"Quit being a grump! We're going to Europe! Smile! You'll make the whole world brighter!"
"Mom!"
"Stopping!" Lorelai replied.
"Thank you." Rory said.
"Wake up!" Lorelai exclaimed.
"I can't." Rory answered.
"Do some toe touches."
"In the car?"
"Yeah." Lorelai said.
"How?"
"I don't know. But I believe in you and nothing less. I believe in you, can't help myself…" Lorelai sang.
"Mom."
"Toe touches!" Lorelai grinned.
"Dashboard." Rory reminded her.
"Oh."
"On second thought…"Rory said.
Lorelai glanced at Rory, "Rory! Rory! No using the dashboard as a head rest." Lorelai smiled.
"Sleeping."
"You're talking." Lorelai said.
"Sleep talking."
"Wake up!" Lorelai cried.
"Toe touches. I'm doin toe touches." Rory sat up.
"That's my girl." Lorelai smiled.
"I'm okay now. I'm awake." Rory rubbed her eyes.
"You'd better be. We're at the airport." Lorelai announced.
Lorelai parked and opened her car door.
Rory climbed out and grabbed her travel backpack, and hoisted it onto her back.
Lorelai did the same and they walked into the airport.
"I miss Luke's." Rory sighed.
"Honey, we're still in Connecticut." Lorelai laughed.
"I know. But I miss Luke and his coffee." Rory said.
"I know. Why don't we try to find a coffee place in here?" Lorelai said.
"Speaking of coffee, did you follow through with our plan?" Rory asked.
"Do you mean the plan where I attach wheels to the Diner, so we can disguise it as a really large carry-on?"
"Yeah."
"No."
"Why not?" Rory asked.
"My car jack would only hold the Diner up long enough for me to put one tire on." Lorelai said.
"You know, I thought it looked a little lopsided this morning when we passed. But I thought I was just tired."
"It was really that one big tire that's attached to the back, left corner on the Diner."
"And I thought I was hallucinating." Rory sighed.
