Author's Note: I had this idea in my head for the very longest of time.
Actually, it was on my head for the past ten minutes. [Which to me is the
longest of time] And I wanted to try something orginal, and new...here it
goes!
"...There he stood, the mighty hero as he was, would not back down. For he was persistant, and brave. Staring at the deadly monster in the eye, he took one step back before taking a blow at the ogre, knocking him dead." The father slowly closed the book, peering down at his curious daughter. A small smile formed on his lips, his small and innocent teenybopper clutched her diminutive blanket, wrapping it around her body.
"Is that story true a daddy?" She asked, eager for the answer.
Her guardian chuckled at this duplicated question, he reached out his hand and brushed her hair out of place. "Amy, why do you always ask that question?" He casually left the once occupied chair of his, placing the book in Amy's hands. "It's all about faith..." He answered, kissing her cheek before strolling out of her room for the final time.
.
Amy opened her eyes to examine the area in which she was. This wasn't the warm shelter filled with love and content that she once had. It was the outside of Eggman's lair. Yet another time has it been where Amy was the damsel in distress. Turning to her left she saw Sonic the hedgehog patting his hands together to try and scrape the dirt off of them. Memories of past events then returned to her of her previous kidnapping from Eggman.
Sonic, frustrated with her for being so naive, was just a few feet away from her. His loyal companion Tails was also an arms grasp away. "Geez Amy how many times do I have to come and save you??" His emerald eyes shifted to look into hers, but it didn't seem as if she was paying attention to him at all. Though she was staring. Puzzled, he waved his hand in front of her face to see if she would blink, but that didn't work quite well either.
For one moment in time, a split second, she witnessed the illusion of her child hood hero. The World's Greatest was consistently valid all these years. Though she has gone to appreciate his acts, she has caught a glimpse of what he truly was, which stunned her. Moment of oppurtunity was open and willing, for this instant she had to give him more acknowledge then simple petty words...
"Amy, hello!?" His patience was running low, prepared to leave her stranded. He had his back turned to his friend, facing the dumbfounded Amy, before he could even call for Tails' attention that was when Amy quickly leaned forward, meeting her lips with his. Ironically the instant resembled to eternity, yet was merely seconds as Amy herself pulled away. No longer anxious to stay with them, she turned abroad on her heel heading to the direction of what instictively was home.
A large smile plastered her lips, unable to lessen itself upon force. "Thank you Sonic." She whispered, though all around the situation could hear.
Tails didn't apprehend entirely what happened, but what he could interpret was the sense of tension in Sonic as Amy walked off. "Sonic??" He asked, disbelieving the unthinkable. Tails walked in front of Sonic to gaze at his appearence. Whatever Amy had done, since Sonic's back was turned to him, was blissful. For Sonic had the most utterly sappiest smile on him, having the same stare Amy had a while ago. That same deficient smile; made it seem as if he was in heaven...
