I'm slowly beginning to feel more like a fanfition writing the more and more I put up on fanfiction.net, there have a been a few submitted reviews to my stories I have written, not many but enough to build up my confidence. Trouble is I have so many stories I would like to write about its ridiculous. And so it leads me to write this one, for Phantasy Star 4 on the Gensis/Megadrive. Okay the current Phantasy star series is suppose to be a continuation of Phantasy star 4, theres lots of Numan's in it and stuff. And the trouble with writing a fanfic for this game, I think, is you've got to fill in the blanks between the two stories while not getting to ahead of yourself.
This story is pretty short, when I think up of new ways to approach it I'll lengthen it. If I ever write another chapter it will be much, much longer then this.
The air was warm and the day was peaceful. Reika sat a hill looking up to the sky. She was beginning to find it hard to imagine life under SEED's careful watch in birth valley, it was not that many years ago if you took it out of human context, yet it seemed like that. The adventures she had had with her beloved Chaz were almost a blur. She remembered his blond hair and blue eyes, he seemed so clear in her mind.
But she was old now, her Numan body was weakening by the day, but her spirit was held up as the sound of her grandchildren came rushing up the hill towards her. Two girls and a boy, she saw herself and her predecessors, the late Numan Nei, inside them both. Reika began to think about her creation as they approached her after all she was the mother of a whole new race when you put it in that prospective. She knew little of Neifirst and Nei, only that Neifirst was made too evil and Nei too good heart to even think about hurting someone. Reika was suppose to have been 'perfection' for she was the product of years of altering their designs until a Numan who had a balanced nature, namely herself, could even be born. But why had SEED gone to the trouble of creating her.
She knew in her lifetime that answer would never be revealed. That answer would take time and only her descendants would ever find out the truth. For now the world she lived in had to learn to accept the Numans who were growing up in it, or they would suffer the same discrimination as Nei had done. The only thing the new age Numan had over Nei was the knowledge they had been born into a world that considered her a hero. Already the human children were asking to play with the Numan ones, already they were sharing memories and already they were calling each other friend.
"Come on grandmother!" one of the children said tugging at her arm. "Mama's already served out the food, papa wants you to come already."
"I'm coming already, don't worry." Reika replied smiling. "When the dark one resurrects it self and I have to be called to fight it, that's when I'll hurry!"
"Tell us more stories of what you and the others did, please Grandma Reika!" they begged.
"Very well, it all started, for me at least when I lost contact with Wren..."
The Numans walked down the hill towards a small house in the local town, while the sun shone down on them and birds sang sweet songs of grace and peace.
