Not His Favorite Holiday

A/N:  Okay, was I the only one that was very depressed by "The Homecoming"?  Ugh, the Seth/Summer/Anna drama… sheesh.  Anyways, this does contain spoilers of that episode, so if you haven't seen it yet, don't read.

Seth, with the comics he read and movies he watched, should have seen it coming.  Being with two girls at the same time at the same place never worked.  Take Luke.  He was with both Marissa and Holly.  Look where that got him.

But no.  With sixteen years of no girls, he was greedy.  At the time he felt lucky, excited.  But now he realizes that it was all greed.

He didn't understand, though.  He'd been waiting for Summer for almost ten years.  And Anna walked into his life, and she liked him.  And he liked her.  But even though things were off and on with Summer, he didn't pick Anna.

He wore cologne for Anna.  He'd never worn cologne for Summer.  His parents really liked Anna.  She offered to come over and help with Thanksgiving dinner and meet Seth's family.  She didn't look at Seth like he was crazy when he introduced her to Captain Oats.

She shared Seth's interests, his sense of style, his humor.  When would Summer ever play Jenga with a plastic horse?  When would Summer get excited about sea monkeys, or try to feed Seth, or have just as much fun watching Seth try to get off a sweater vest than doing anything else?

But it didn't matter who was most suitable for Seth.  He screwed himself over.  He screwed them over.  He could have died when they both came into the kitchen.  It was even worse when they stormed out on him.  He half-expected them to get slightly chummy and bond over some old sitcom about single women.

Summer or Anna, Anna or Summer…?  He never expected a choice between two beautiful women would be so hard.  He knew how the guy on that Bachelor show felt now.

Never again was he going to have two girls with him at one time.  He made sure to mentally cross 'threesome in a bathroom' off his list of things to do.  Damned holidays, anyway.

He had said that Thanksgiving was his favorite holiday, but now… maybe that's not so true.
