A/N: Okay, was I the only one that was very depressed by "The Homecoming"? Ugh, the Seth/Summer/Anna drama… sheesh. Anyways, this does contain spoilers of that episode, so if you haven't seen it yet, don't read.
Get acquainted with Captain Oats? Anna grinned to herself as Seth hurried out of the room. Once he was gone, she began to look around. She'd never been in Seth's room, but she had always kind of pictured it this way.
Posters all over the walls, books all over the computer desk. She didn't really imagine a toy horse, but Seth was unpredictable like that.
As she paced the room, hands clasped behind her back, she noticed a small black book sticking out from underneath Seth's bed. Brow furrowed, she bent over and picked it up.
She opened up to the most recently creased page. It was a diary… a journal. Another thing she didn't really predict that Seth would have. She bit her lip. What could it hurt? After all, he did leave her here all alone….
She let her eyes scan the small, neat words.
Hmm. I bought cologne last weekend. Why? Because she's coming over. She's so beautiful, and I want to look – and smell – my best for her.
Anna's inner-self scowled. About Summer, no doubt. Still, she continued reading.
Anna… I can't believe I never noticed her before.
Anna was floored. No way. Hmm, well. This should be interesting. Just wait 'til you get back, Seth Cohen.
I've rarely worn cologne in my life, yet here I am buying it just for her. I'm so glad that she's coming over for Thanksgiving. Here's hoping that all goes well… I just hope I don't pull away and ruin the moment if we're about to kiss… again.
Anna smiled. She guessed that he had gotten over that – well, maybe not at first. But that all worked out well.
Footsteps. Hurriedly, Anna shoved the journal back into its place and grabbed the first thing she could – a Jenga game. She vigorously pulled open the flaps and poured some pieces onto the bed, jumping after them. She wanted to make it look like she had been doing something and not snooping around, anyway.
Seth entered the room to find Anna with Captain Oats propped up between two pillows, a Jenga piece in her hand.
Don't worry, Seth, she thought. Unless you do something to mess this up, this'll work out really well.
