Misao stood outside, in the pounding rain, waiting for Aoshi.
'Where is he? He said he would come back tonight...' Misao thought miserably to herself. He had been going to the temple a lot lately. The sky darkened, and she went in, heart heavy.
That night, as she went to bed, tears streamed down her face silently. Why? Did Aoshi love her? And if he did, why didn't he show it? Slowly, she drifted off into the land of sleep.
"Aoshi! Aoshi-sama! Please wait for me!" Misao cried. She was five again, and Aoshi fifteen. He turned and smiled gently at her, but slowly turned back and began walking again. The fog was swallowing him up. Misao ran after him, but her five-year-old legs weren't fast enough. She tripped, and looked up, tears streaming down her face.
"Aoshi -sama! Please…don't leave me…" she cried, and tears streamed down her face again.
Misao woke up to find herself being cradled. She didn't open her eyes. Tears still streamed down her face, and they shone in the night moon like a small river (basically, the moon is shining through the window). A rough hand gently wiped away her tears. Misao buried her face in his chest, sobbing.
"Misao…" Misao looked up at the man cradling her, knowing that voice all too well. It was the one she dreamed of all the time: Aoshi's voice.
"Ao-Aoshi-sa-" Misao stammered, but was stopped by Aoshi gently placing a finger on her lips.
"Misao…did I hurt you that much?" he looked at her with tender eyes. Misao could only look down at her hands, and nod gently. Misao was taken aback when Aoshi pulled her closer to him.
"Oh, Misao, I'm so sorry…" he cradled her gently. Misao stiffened at first, not sure if this was dream or reality. Then she smelled the sweet scent of sandalwood. It was her favorite. She slowly relaxed, and enjoyed the feeling of being in his arms. The full moon shone upon his face as Misao looked up, and it was beautiful. There was more emotion in it than she thought he ever would have. There was grief, joy and anger. 'Who was he angry at?' Misao thought, alarmed, to herself, 'Me?' "How could I have been so stupid? How could I have just left you like that? Why?" he said, voice full of emotion, and looked at her. Misao gently placed a hand on his cheek.
"I forgive you, Aoshi. How could I not forgive you? I-I love you." She whispered. She braced herself for rejection, but it never came.
"But Misao…how could you love me? I…I.." Misao placed a finger gently on his lips to stop him from babbling on. Then she smiled brightly.
"I just do, Aoshi…that's all you need to know."
"Misao…I love you…" Misao looked hopefully into his ice blue eyes (that is his eye color, right?). then she leaned closer to him, and he leaned closer to her. Their lips met, and the moon shone full upon them.
well, I hope you liked that! Major fluff, huh? I don't know where I got this from…it just came to me! Anyways, read and review! well, review, please! Thanks! O, and this was aone-shot. I might make a sequel, in Aoshi's POV, but not sure. Should I? Please reviews! Bai!
