Simple and Clean

Yami stopped running and dropped to his knees in the middle of the street. He held his head in his hands and cried as the shiny black limo drove away. Tears fell like rivers from his red-violet eyes and he cursed Seto's name over and over again. A light blanket of snow began to coat his body.

Seto watched Yami vanish from view, keeping to himself and thinking about what he had said. He told Yami that he didn't love him anymore, and that he didn't want to see him. This was a day or two after he had gotten a little bracelet for Yami. What a bittersweet Christmas it had been.

You smiled at me and said

Yami had slept at the mansion, with Seto, on Christmas Eve. Anthy and Kaylynn were there as well, preparing dinner and keeping everyone happy and cheery. But the party had eventually wound down and Kaylynn and Anthy left. Seto and Yami were alone.

Christmas morning was the best. Seto woke with Yami cuddling up beside him and the two lay in bed until nine o'clock. Yes…that was the best.

Yami shook the snow off of him and stood up, knot still tight in his throat. His body shuddered and he looked at the bracelet in his hand. He curled his hand around it tightly and shivered. He turned around and began to walk home.

Seto opened the door to his room and looked around. There was a picture of him and Yami next to the bed. He sat on the corner of the bed, staring at it.

Anthy found her older half-brother asleep when she went to check on him later. She smiled to herself and left him alone.

Seto was woken up by the phone ringing and Anthy coming into the room in nothing but her bathrobe and tossed the phone to him. She told him to stop staring and talk.

Seto found himself running though the fresh snow, looking for Yami. Yugi had said that the former pharaoh hadn't come home. Thus, Seto was distressed

And Seto found him, dropping to his knees and crying.

He looked through his tears at the red snow all around him and then at Yami's lifeless body.

Seto quelled his sobs and looked at his love's closed hand. He uncurled Yami's hand, and a knot formed in his throat.

Regardless of warnings the future doesn't scare me at all

There, in his bloody palm, was the bracelet. The silver band that said "love" in black letters. Seto didn't hold in his tears anymore.
