When you smile... when you laugh...

It sends shivers through my heart.

But it feels good.

I'm watching you now, kitsune.

I see you with them... laughing... talking...

Not a care in the world, or so it seems.

I smile, watching you.

You bring me joy, make me happy.

No one else I have ever met can do that.

You excuse yourself for a breath of fresh air.

I follow along the path, watching.

Suddenly, you look up, and come towards my hiding place.

My heart breaks to see you coming towards me.

This love of mine... it's forbidden.

I can't...

No...

I jerk back, masking my ki.

You stop, a puzzled expression on your face.

You speak my name, softly, confusion written on your face.

I hold still, not even breathing, praying for you to not see me.

You shrug, and walk away, sadly.

My heart breaks again to see you walk away.

The truth is... I love you, kitsune.

But you can never know.

I'm trapped by my own lies, by the life I've created.

I sniff the air hungrily, breathing in the sweet scent of the rose I can never have.

I was originally planning for this to be an Hiei/Kurama, but I realized that I never gave any clues to who the person is. So it could be just about anybody. O.o

I thought this sucked, personally. I can't even write a poem that rhymes. This can't even be called a poem. But go ahead and review anyways. Tell me what you think. Maybe I'll even continue.
