Wine Stain
A man apart,
Is what he is,
Two worlds, one life is left.
A car, a glass, a sharp tongue,
He wields his armor,
Ready for the test.
As a child,
Was he loved?
Was he filled with joy?
For now he needs,
Just these two things,
To fill the empty void.
He finds one quite easily,
The other comes in time.
The latter was a certain girl,
The former being wine.
His guard is up,
The stakes are high,
The challenges being met.
She smiles at him,
Embraces him,
And fills him with regret.
Like a dog to master,
This pup has gone astray.
He has just embarked,
On a brand new day.
The house they share,
Is now a home,
Filled with love and joy.
Sunlight, warmth, and family
Never cherished,
As a boy.
She smiles at him,
He smiles back,
It erases all the pain.
Still there will never,
be enough,
To wipe away ,
the wine stain.
