Dizzily Fevered
Mild summertime sky came so calmly by nightfall. Early banquet was seen through clear glass windows, appeasing the growling stomachs. Soon to be satisfied, three remained in the living room and so evening television was tuned. How fascination glued their eyes to the seductive screen, for mouth corners drooled simpers. Yet, outside settling breeze drifted someone away. So, away was one; leaving, somewhere already, and with the softened slide of a door only to be heard very slightly.
Inked blue like faraway seas, a dragonfly flitted among stars on this nearby lake. Elegant footsteps eased on a moonlit path; and fluttering was her long sapphire hair with the cool wind. Who was in promenade so dreamy, a fair went along and lonely. Of glinting midst, a silent face longed to gaze in moonlight. There, she was on that bank of the star dazzled lake when fireflies twirled along the pathway, by the heels with each graceful step. She sighed halfheartedly, walking under this cloudless night.
What a moment whiled in wonder; and posed to stare at delicate ripples from fallen leaves, as if she stood in a precious portrait. Fine breezes, that whispered a secret melody, carried warmth in a heavenly song. Whose pink fragrant eyes mirrored on the lake and soon found someone on the other side; so, the freckled princess looked onward, smiling in modesty. She glanced to see a familiar sight, returning to her a pleasant smile; and so, they strolled at a slow pace beneath starry skies.
The shy moon hid this place where stone steps shone the way. At the shrine, a scene of two seated together, side by side, twinkled the night. Their faces turned to meet with tacit eyes mesmerized in vision; and, whether of fantasy or of illusion, like a dream so sweet, cast an enchanted spell of eternal splendor. Their cheeks flushed feverishly. What was time when melted senses were numb and warm faces neared; and, ruby-rose scented petals flowered peculiar sentiment and fondness.
Candlelight fireflies scurried across the air like patterned lanterns lit in shivering shadows. Now, fuzzy nightly clouds summoned to compose the nervous hearts. Down slithery steps, puddled water splashed to steady taps of shoes. Where was his outer shirt; still the inner one soaked a chill, but warmed. His drenched dark hair slicked beside her; his shirt shielded her from the rain. The jesting wind teased as cold gusts made them cuddled all the long way to the house...
