The Vessel
The Holy Potter shapes
A perfect vessel;
Never has He made
One that was marred.
~~~~~~~~~~
He sends it out into
The unholy world,
Filled to the brim
With his Holy Spirit.
~~~~~~~~~~
But the winds of the Destroyer
Toss the vessel about,
And through it against the rocks
Where it is cracked and broken.
~~~~~~~~~~
Lies of Lucifer push out
The Spirit through the cracks,
As the vessel unwillingly allows,
And the Potter sees its distress.
~~~~~~~~~~
He rescues the vessel and says,
"You are mine and I love you, child."
And with gentle hands He fixes
The cracks and makes it stronger.
~~~~~~~~~~
Once again, filled with the Spirit,
The vessel is sent out,
Strengthened by its troubles;
And never again is it broken.
