FLY
The wind blew to tomorrow
I could feel it pass me by
With every step I took that day
I knew that I could fly
I wanted only to make him proud
To love me, can't you see?
I would prove I was my father's son
But that can never be
Well, tomorrow has come and gone
And though I nearly flew
I lived through death, and you never cared
That was all I knew
I took off from the roof of the house
To fly across the street
I wanted to go find and break
The limit you want me to meet
I nearly died, all for you
To try what no one dared
So that you would love me
And yet you never cared
I sat up in my bed, just waiting
For you to come to me
To ask me why I tried to fly
But that will never be
And the wind blows to tomorrow again
A tomorrow I'll never see
Because I jumped from the roof again
And that jump has slaughtered me
