A/N - This fic is to all those 'House of 1000 Corpses' fans out there that just can't find a HO1C fic. Also, I will say that I thought the Dr. Satan parts of the movie were awesome, but there were unfortunately too little of them. So here's my fic about that night Dr. Satan disappeared from the hanging tree...

The Convoluted

By A Nightmare on Elm Street

The night sky was blanketed with dark clouds, promising rainfall. The wind was beginning to pick up and rustle the fallen leaves. There were flashes of lightning illuminating the pale sky.

Near the forest, there had been a death, an execution, a hanging.

The body swung from the twisted tree it was hanging from. The wind pushed the lifeless corpse back and forth like a pendulum. The head was covered by a mask, with only two small eyeholes in the front. He wore scrubs like a doctor would wear, but this man's scrubs had not been properly washed in days, and were caked in dry and fresh blood. The man was a doctor, but was put to death when he was convicted of torturing and even killing patients.

Even though he was dead, something inside was still alive, still continuing on, not ready to die and determined not to.

So his body swayed in the breeze. He was not alive, but nor was he dead.

The rain finally came and it quickly drenched the freshly dead corpse. The lightning began to flash continuously, with thunder following every strike, making the ground vibrate.

It would be crazy for anybody to be out in this weather. Everyone was at home, safe by the fire and with their families.

But somebody was still out.

A figure skipped up childishly to the body, humming a catchy tune. It was a woman, maybe in her twenties. She had long blonde hair that went down to her waste and wore a dress with a long coat. She acted rather childish for her aged.

She giggled when she seen the body. She skipped closer to the corpse and stopped to stand facing the body. The rain didn't seem to bother her at all.

"Would you like to come down?" she said in a perky way. Her voice was unusually high and girlish.

Of course, he couldn't respond using his voice, for that part of him was dead, but it seemed that the part of him that was alive was saying 'yes'.

The girl smiled and grabbed a barrel sitting next to the tree. It had been used during the hanging for the man to stand on as he heard his last words, until they pulled it out from under him, pulling him away from life.

The girl set the barrel in front of the hanging man and stood upon it. She began to work with the noose around the body's neck.

"You can come live with me!" she exclaimed, "You'll have lots of fun with my family! We ALWAYS have lots of fun!"

She slipped the noose off of the body and it fell limply to the ground.

Observing his fall, she sighed, the quirky smile leaving her lips, "Don't worry, we'll make you feel as good as new and a million times better!" She grabbed the body by the hand and giggled, "Let's go!"

The girl skipped off into the night, dragging the body along with her.
