He was watching her, had been watching her, since she first arrived in the tackily decorated hall. Most people would say she was untouchable, cool. Cold as ice. No one really knew did they? He finally had the courage to approach her.

"My Lady, may I say how beautiful you look, tonight?"

Of course he could. She had no other choice in the matter, did she? She had to play the ever cool and upright wife of a Ministry man. She had to do as her husband bloody well commanded her to.

"Of course you may, Minister," she murmured politely as he took her hand and wetly kissed it.  He was trying so hard to appear smooth and well graphed in the manners of seduction. He couldn't quite pull it off, those suave moves stilted and awkward, his eyes wide with awe and adoration.

"Cornelius, my dear. I have said before."

"Narcissa, then."  The smile like spun sugar in it's sweetness.

"Dance with me…Narcissa?"

She felt the weight of her husband's gaze on her. The weight of her duty to him. He who would do anything for his beloved Dark Lord. Anything, even cheapening his wife to the Minister of Magic. Well, she had no choice in the matter, did she? So she bestowed upon him another sugary sweet smile.

            "Of course, minis….Cornelius."

Right. That's 200 words, without the extra notes and title. I swear it is. Well, it was 200 when I counted it anyway, =P

Hope it's liked. R&R, people!
