There was a battling going on between samurai and demon, Kenshin and Hiei. Kenshin had interrupted Hiei's training, and Hiei started the battle.

Hiei was merciless in his attacks, but so was Kenshin. Hiei got the best of Kenshin's weakness. Kenshin's sword went flying into the forest. Hiei used the hilt of his sword and knocked Kenshin onto his back. Hiei put his sword to Kenshin's throat and said, "Now, what do you have to say for yourself?"

Kenshin breathed, "I have nothing to say in my defense, but I can get you a meal if you spare my life."

"Why would you want to give me a meal?!" Hiei hissed.

"Because," Kenshin sighed, "it is Thanksgiving."

"Thanksgiving?" Hiei questioned.

"Yes, it is when people get together and spend time with their family and friends."

"But I am neither friend nor family."

"I am sure you have something to be thankful for, even if it isn't a friendship with me. Perhaps a family member or someone you love deeply?"

"Well, I do have someone I am thankful for," Hiei said, while his thoughts flashed to his sister, Yukina. "I suppose I can join you for your 'Thanksgiving meal'."

"Good," Kenshin smiled. "Now, if you will move your sword so that I can get up, I will take you to my home so that you can clean up, and have a good meal, among friends."

"Thank you," Hiei said as he let Kenshin up.
