Deck the halls

It was the dead of night no one should have stirred but as the ship flew silently though the stars a figure crept just as silently and purposely though the halls of the ship. Though he made no noise his presence could not be missed for behind him lay a path of shining silver and gold that glittered and twinkled in the starlight.

It was December the 24th and Harper was on a mission to bring Christmas to Andromeda so as silently as possible he crept though the halls of the ship spreading Christmas joy as he went. Tonight the stars twinkled both in and out the ship. The command deck he left glittering with hundreds of tiny coloured lights and coloured streamers hung from the ceiling, the halls were indeed decked with holly tonight.

In Hydroponics he had spent the longest time, the tree was decorated complete with candy canes and a shinning star atop underneath lay a mass of neatly wrapped presents in brightly coloured paper still more streamers hung from the ceiling, in the far corner a table was laid with the finest assortment of sweet and savoury treats.

Yet still he carried on till almost the entire ship had been touched by his hand he had even painted snowflakes on the windows. And still he was not done before he could lay his weary head to rest he had one last task to complete and this may be the hardest yet requiring all his strength and skill.

As he came to the first of his sleeping friends rooms he pulled out a stocking filled with gifts after overriding the door he crept in doing all he could to be silent and unseen in case he wake the sleeping form. Andromeda the ship of course knew what he was doing he couldn't keep this a secret from her; she had however promised to keep her avatar and the rest of the crew in the dark.

Now all Harper had do was slip in Rommie's room and deliver his final sack of presents but androids were not easy to sneak past. Andromeda in her bid to help had Rommie running a self diagnostic but even so he still had to be careful not to disturbed the still figure sitting on the bed; if he made one wrong move he might disturb the android snapping her out of the diagnostic and ruining his plan. So as Harper crept in the room he daren't even breath as he lay the gifts at the foot of the bed and crept back thought the shadows to the ships halls.

And finally he was done; he was exhausted but still careful not to make a noise that might wake someone as he snuck back to his room. At last his head hit the pillow and his eyes drifted closed and Harper dreamt of surfing and hordes of pretty girls hanging on to his every word.

In the morning the crew awoke to a strange new world of beauty and wonder they had no idea that while they slept their friend had snuck though the ship spreading his Christmas magic.
