A Mother's Love
Angeline Fowl walked through the doorway into the dark room. The lump in the middle of the huge bed was the most important thing in the world to her. She smiled and kissed the lump's forehead. Artemis Fowl the Second was her pride and joy. He made her laugh, cry, and sigh. Yes, it was hard at times. Having a son with an IQ nearly double yours is taxing on anyone. Having a son with Artemis Fowl the First is a big disappointment. She loved her husband very much but he really wasn't a good father. She knew her son was going to be great. He was going to earn every degree known to man and he was going to continue the Fowl bloodline. He was going to be the most famous Fowl, making footprints in areas never explored by his predecessors. She ran her fingers through his dark hair and traced his cheekbone. He looked so much like his father. The boy stirred and his eyes flickered open. "Mother," he groaned. "Yes, Arty. I'm here." And she would never leave him.
