Frodo stared out his window, wondering whereabouts he was last year. He decided he had been just coming out of Shelobs Lair. His arm stung in remeberance of the pain. Sam suddenly appeared outside his window. "Hello Mr. Frodo, how are you today? You know, I was just thinking, this day last year, weren't we..." He trailed off, seeing the look on Frodo's face. "Yes Sam. We were." He finished simply. He went back to staring out the window, while Sam walked off quietly. 'What is wrong with me?' Frodo wondered. Gandalf was due for a visit this week. He would ask him then. Ah, it was settled.

Frodo wandered into the front room of Bag End and picked up The Red Book. He flipped past Bilbo's section, to the start of his own adventure. His eyelids slowly got heavier as he read each chapter, and a warm feeling of contentment flowed through him, until eventually he dozed off in the warm sunshine.

He dreamed he was wandering through the Old Forest with Merry, Pippin and Sam. Except, it wasn't the Old Forest. He knew it was, but it was more, elf-like, a bit like Lorien, but not as magic-feeling. Merry and Pippin were skipping ahead. Sam was behind, leaving a trail of mushrooms for them to follow should they get lost. As they turned the corner, Tom Bombadil loomed into view merrily dancing along with Goldberry.

"Tom, Tom!" Frodo called out, but Tom disappeared. Frodo started running to catch up and then stopped. He tripped. He bent down to see what it was and he fell down, down, down. He opened his eyes again and looked up. He saw the fellowship standing around him and knew he was lying in his bed in Rivendell.

He sat up and everything went dark. He was sitting on top of Balins coffin in Moria, there were dead orcs everywhere, and Aragorn was sitting in a corner sulking. Frodo skipped over to him and found himself skipping through Lorien, all the fellowship holding hands and skipping with him.

Then they were sailing through the air in the elvish boats Galdriel had given them. They sailed and sailed until they came to the end of Emyn Muil, the impassable labyrinth of razor sharp rocks. Aragorn was still in their boat with them. Sam and Frodo climbed out, and Aragorn started crying and sailed away.

Gollum found Sam and Frodo. He ran round and around them, binding them with their elvish rope. He stopped, and tied a knot. The rope changed into the one ring, squeezing Frodo and Sam ever tightly. It suddenly exploded, shattering into a million pieces, and Frodo watched Gollum fall down, down, down into Mount Doom, the Ring with him. As Gollum hit the boiling hot lava, Frodo felt Mount Doom explode, and he and Sam were blasted skywards, Frodo felt himself flying over middle earth and landing on the roof of Bag End.

Frodo jerked awake with a start. Opening his eyes slowly, he wondered why he was sitting on the roof.
