For a candle to be seen
It must be taken to dark places
But in the night of my soul I hear the screams
And I'm afraid to see the faces
I was killer with a gun
Not even caring who's life I maimed
This was my life, my job, my fun
As I loaded my weapon and carefully aimed
Until the time my heart did take
A chance on love of which was lost
And this was my greatest mistake
As I paid a heavy cost
She was a girl so kind and fair
Sleeping beauty in the tower
Tossing my heart away without a care
As I was held tight by her power
I wished to wake her with a kiss
To live happily ever after
But Cupid's arrow sadly missed
And I drowned in Hojo's laughter
She chose her love, I didn't fight
As Hojo gave a triumphant grin
I walked away into the night
And this was my greatest sin
She died and I was torn with rage
As I pointed the gun at Hojo's head
But he won and I am caged
A guinea pig half alive, half dead
But I returned to settle the score
And my enemy, Hojo, was killed
Now in my soul she screams no more
The voices have been finally stilled
So why do I lie here still within the dark
Listening to my inner demon's snickers
When with my friends I see a hopeful spark
And in my soul a candle flickers
I know, it was quite long-sorry. I don't know why I keep writing poetry-I
seem to be thinking in rhyme lately. We wrote exams and I'm finally
finished. I can finally relax. Thanks to all the people who have reviewed
and are still to review. You inspire and encourage me. I hope to write more
but if you tell me that you'd rather roll down a hill covered in barbed
wire then, naturally, I'll stop. Well, thanks a lot. I've been rambling too
long. Ciao.
